Your Hosts
Dr. Hamman is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and is the current director for the state of Mississippi to the Southern Association of Orthodontists. He is a past president of the Memphis Association of Orthodontists, the University of Tennessee Orthodontics Alumni Association, and member of the SAO’s Scientific Affairs Committee. In his free time, Dr. Hamman plays guitar in the worship team at Hope Baptist Church and enjoys hunting, fishing, and camping with his two boys (Reed and Amos Ray) and his wife Amanda.

Dr. Sreenivas “Sree” Koka, D.D.S., M.S., Ph.D., M.B.A.

Dr. Sreenivas “Sree” Koka received DDS and MS (prosthodontics) degrees from The University of Michigan. Sree joined the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry faculty in 1992, became a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics in 1995, and received his PhD in Oral Biology from the University of Nebraska in 1999. While at the University of Nebraska, Sree received the Outstanding Teacher Award on numerous occasions and was the inaugural Merritt C. Pedersen Professor of Dentistry. He joined the Staff of Mayo Clinic in 2004 and is former Consultant, former Professor of Dentistry, and former Chairman of the Department of Dental Specialties in Rochester, Minnesota. Sree received an MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Management in 2013 and moved to Zurich, Switzerland to be Executive Director of the Foundation for Oral Rehabilitation. Sree moved back to the US to focus on patient care and student education and open Koka Dental Clinic, a private practice focused on implant and removable prosthodontics in San Diego. In April 2021, he became Dean of the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry. Sree is past interim Chair of Restorative Dentistry at UCLA School of Dentistry and is also Clinical Professor in Advanced Prosthodontics at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. He is a Fellow and Past-President of the Academy of Prosthodontics, a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, a member of the ADA/CDA/SDCDS, President of the International College of Prosthodontists, and is Chair of MIT’s Sloan School of Management Alumni Board. Sree has published over 100 journal articles and book chapters, lectures extensively nationally and internationally and he has been a reviewer for NIH grants and been a principal investigator on grants funded by NIH and industry sources. In addition, Sree is the co-founder of the Future Leaders in Prosthodontics (FLIP) and Shaping the Future of Implant Dentistry (SHIFT) workshop series. He is one of a handful of dentists to have given a TED talk.

Dr. Nathan Hamman is a native of northwest Tennessee. His original plan was to be a band director and he was a music education major at Austin Peay State University before making the switch to pre- dentistry. He received his DDS at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and completed his Master’s degree and orthodontic training there as well. His researched focused on cellular expression and modulation of specific cytokines during orthodontic tooth movement. Dr. Hamman joined the part time faculty at UT’s orthodontic department in 2012 where he teaches orthodontists-in- training and serves on their thesis committees. He also travels to Tucson, AZ once a year to teach domestic and international residents and orthodontists the art of wire bending and orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning at the Charles H. Tweed International Foundation for Orthodontic Research and Education. Dr. Hamman, Dr. Richard Williams, and their incredible team make up their office, Williams & Hamman Orthodontics, which has been creating smiles in DeSoto County since 1985.
