What are the risks of crown lengthening?

The only risk of undergoing crown lengthening is developing an infection at the site of the surgery. However, this can be avoided by proper oral hygiene and following post-operative instructions provided by our dental team.

Can I have a crown placed immediately after crown lengthening?

Mostly, no. The surgical site would have to heal. Your teeth will appear significantly longer soon after surgery, as the gums have already been repositioned. You'll need to be seen in one or two weeks to remove the sutures and monitor your recovery. The surgical site should be fully healed about two to three months after the operation. However, Dr. Adatrow might give you a temporary crown based on your body requirements.
